Daily tasks & insects hunting

Make sure to go hunting for wild creatures every day. I personally hunt 30-50 scorpions per day, which yields a substantial amount of sand and experience points for the ants. You need 20 for your daily tasks, but I recommend to kill 30-50 of them for greater benefits.

Definitely make it a daily priority to complete all the daily tasks. This is where you can obtain valuable resources and a few eggs.

Strategy & acclerator usage

Since “The Ants” is a strategy game, it’s essential to think about when to use your resources. Whenever possible, avoid building on non-event days. To maximize your progress, good resource management is crucial in this game.

Especially for newcomers, it’s important to conduct evolutions every day, but primarily in the beginning stages of the game. For more information on evolutions, you can refer to the Evolution guide.

You can take a close look at the hourly events in the event calendar and time your actions to maximize your points. When combined strategically with Server vs. Server (SVS), you can make the most out of your efforts.

Always try to save accelerators for the right events when possible. During non-event periods, it’s generally best to run everything without speed-ups, as it usually doesn’t make much sense to use them at that time.

Rapid production & insect hatching

Make sure to use all rapid productions as often as possible every day. Small actions can also lead to significant progress in the game.

It’s a good strategy to hatch at least 4 insects every day. Save them for Server vs. Server(SVS) events, but don’t forget to breed fodder. Especially with higher-star upgrades, you can quickly deplete 200k fodder.

Save your diamonds

It’s wise to save your diamonds and always use accelerators and similar items before spending diamonds. Diamonds should be kept as an emergency reserve. For example, if you’ve cracked 8 shells in an Server vs. Server(SVS) event but are short on resources for the 9th shell in a construction event, you can use diamonds to gain an edge.

Gather resouces every day

Gather resources every day, whether there’s an event or not. This provides you with three advantages:

  1. If your shield is down and you get attacked, you won’t lose any troops.
  2. Resources are always beneficial.
  3. Event-specific items like sandstones, shells, etc., can be obtained directly, with 80 collected after a longer gathering tour, preferably overnight.

Upgrade your Ladybug

The higher you upgrade your ladybug, the more often you can buy items throughout the day and unlock more slots. For my level 18 ladybug, I can do trades exactly twice a day: once in the morning from around 06:00-08:00 and once in the evening from 17:00-19:00.

If you follow the trick with water and mushrooms, it becomes easy to buy out all the resources you need.

Earn & exchange eggshells

You can receive a maximum of 60 eggshells per day from the hourly event “Colony Action”. For every 3 shells achieved, you’ll receive 20 eggshells for the third shell. You can use these shells to exchange for fragments.

These three types of ants are worth considering for exchange, especially the Construction Ant. However, you can also obtain these fragments through regional mining quests, except for the Golden Construction Ant. Please note that you’ll need a light contract for the Golden Construction Ant.

Development ants

You can obtain fragments here by working on the tree daily. Once you’ve unlocked any of these ants, their skills are crucial for the beginning stages of the game.

The second skill increases the sand production of ALL gathering spots by the mentioned number. The fourth skill “buffs” the second skill, which means you’ll receive even more resources passively. Same Situation for the other Ants specialized for other ressources.

Indeed, the Blue Development Ants should not be underestimated. You can combine them, for instance, with the Purple Wetland Ant. Even though it’s “only” a Blue ant, it provides me with a significant boost of +800 wetsoil resources per gathering spot. If you have 7 wetsoil gathering spots, that means an additional 800×7 per hour of extra wetsoil resources for you.
